Yellow Tea

The legendary yellow tea is produced by covering the tea leaves, traditionally with straw, which turns the green leaves yellow. Only a few tea masters have the knowledge needed to produce this artisanal tea variety, making each year's vintage especially prized.

Jiuzhai Yellow Bud From Anhui Province

This rarest of Chinese teas is found in the Jiuzhai Mountains in the province of Anhui. High elevation and humidity contribute to its wonderfully distinct taste and flavor. Most are created from tea buds picked in early spring. However, the procedure for harvesting and producing yellow tea is quite tedious. More farmers are turning to the easier and more marketable green tea, rendering yellow tea more precious and elusive than ever before.
